Lea Farm Lake – Stonechat male, 20 Chaffinch over in small groups heading west, 8 Meadow Pipit coming out of the long grass, 5 Snipe in the reed tufts by waters edge north of hide, Green Sandpiper along north west shore beyond the Snipe (FJC)
Lavell’s Lake – 4+ Redwing on the path to Bittern hide in and around the large hawthorn (Anne Cronin)

Lea Farm Lake – Stonechat male, Kingfisher, Green Sandpiper (Richard Marsh)
Lavell’s Lake – 4 Lesser Redpoll 1 seen with 3 more dropping into a hedge, 50+ small finches in an untidy flock dropped behind far end of Lodge Wood most likely Goldfinch or Siskin, 3 Raven flew tree top height along east side of car park field, Blackcap by style, 3 Fieldfare over heading west (FJC)

Lavell’s Lake – 4 Little Egret heading south, Peregrine over towards Lavell’s then hunting just west, 17 Fieldfare in 2 groups of 8 and 9 moving south west, Lesser Redpoll heard over, Redwing, 30+ Chaffinch heading south west in small groups all seen from the Landfill viewing area in the Car Park field (FJC)

Lavell’s Lake – 302+ Redwing heading west in numerous groups, 8 Chaffinch, Brambling male, 15 Linnet heading south, 2 Mistle Thrush, 36 Fieldfare heading west, Skylark (FJC); Kestrel flew over Loddon towards mill (Richard Marsh)

Lavell’s Lake – 60+ Chaffinch, 100+ Redwing all heading west, 7 Fieldfare, Peregrine heading east, Redpoll, 5 Reed Bunting (FJC); Water Rail, Cettis Warbler both calling frequently from reeds behind bund, Kingfisher active, Little Grebe just put in an appearance too (Michael Hubbard)
Black Swan Lake – 14 Little Egret sat in trees at south end of lake close to where the path splits to White Swan (Michael Hubbard)

Black Swan Lake – 40+ Redwing over on the north side of the lake (Bob Bennett); 25+ Redwing over the old Gold Course, Ring-necked Parakeet over the old Golf Course, Grey Wagtail (Jonny Cox)

Lea Farm Lake – 2 Snipe, Green Sandpiper left of hide, Lesser Black-backed Gull north spit, 2+ Siskin over, Stonechat on brambles in the south east corner (Peter Scudamore); 3 Fieldfare (Renton Righelato)
Lavell’s Lake – 6 Lessor Redpoll a group of 5 heading north over landfill then 1 more calling north, 50 Chaffinch over Landfill in various groups from 3 to 9, 2 Redwing distant sighting over the northern Landfill, 2 Chiffchaff, Peregrine low over the eastern Landfill (FJC)
Black Swan Lake – 2 Mistle Thrush by the Activity centre then flew towards Sandford Lake (FJC); Common Gull on post east side main island (Peter Scudamore)
Mortimer’s Meadow – 5 Redwing north near to Aviation Museum (FJC)

Lea Farm Lake – 60 Chaffinch over landfill in groups of 3 to 9 in 2 hours heading west, 2 Swallow heading south, 17 Linnet one group south with 2 other flocks of 9 & 5 were likely this species, 16 Goldfinch heading south, 5 Reed Bunting, 4 Skylark, 2 Lessor Redpoll dropped on to wires near old Oak then dropped below, 4 Redwing first of autumn flew down river and over landfill South (FJC)

Lea Farm Lake – 190+ Mallard at dawn, 4 Green Sandpiper, 10 Snipe along east shore all behind old shingle island, 24+ Swallow thru in groups, 5+ Meadow Pipit on track, Stonechat far north east corner (FJC)
Sandford Lake – 12+ Sand Martin, Shoveler, 2 Wigeon, Gadwall (Sally Bryson-Bond)

October 3rd
Lea Farm Lake – 86 Teal 81 in the south west corner and 5 more off the north spit this is a big increase overnight, 2 Snipe, 24 Lapwing, Green Sandpiper, 3 Mandarin Duck 2 males and a female swam across towards old shingle island, 2 Stonechat in the far north east corner (FJC)
