October 31st
Lea Farm Lake – 5 Little Egret just flew by but only one stopped on the east shore the rest headed south east towards Lavell’s (FJC); Great White Egret still present around the reeds in the north west corner (Matthew Joyce)

October 30th
Lea Farm Lake – 2 Stonechat, 10 Meadow Pipit, 3 Little Egret (FJC); 4 Red Kite sitting on posts opposite Ron’s hide, Little Egret, Great White Egret (Sally Bryson-Bond)
Lavell’s Lake – Water Rail calling, 4 Snipe, Chaffinch, 2 Treecreeper, 2 Bullfinch male and female (Anne Cronin), 2 Raven heading west (FJC); 7 Snipe seen from Bittern hide, Great White Egret (Sally Bryson-Bond); Water Rail heard at Teal hide (Matthew Joyce)

October 29th
Lea Farm Lake – Raven east of Landfill drifting south, Green Sandpiper heard only, 3 Little Egret, 3 Mistle Thrush off to east of the Landfill, 12 Skylark light passage south in groups of 4/2/4/2, 35 Chaffinch light passage heading south in groups of 4-10, 70 Redwing light passage heading south in groups of 10-30 (FJC); Shelduck in the south west corner, Green Sandpiper near Green Bridge (Tim James)

October 28th
Lea Farm Lake – Pintail female east shore with Gadwall in the north east corner, 16 Common Gull numbers mounted as they kept arriving all adults but with two 1st winter (FJC); Raven over landfill, 16 Meadow Pipit, Reed Bunting, 4 Pied Wagtail, Grey Wagtail (Nick Kightley); 2 Stonechat on the fence, Shelduck briefly but then flew off over Lodge Wood (Roger Stansfield)

Lea Farm Lake – 2 Stonechat, 2 Nuthatch, Common Gull (Richard Marsh); 5 Stonechat on the fence on the east shore, 11 Meadow Pipit on the near Landfill, Little Egret in the south west corner, Green Woodpecker to the left of the hide, 3 Ring-necked Parakeet on the feeders (Bob Bennett)

Lea Farm Lake – 250 Wood Pigeon small movement south in groups of 50-100, 11 Skylark over slowly west, Redwing in three groups of 40 50+ and 10+ all heading south west, 37 Teal, 76 Wigeon, 100+ Goldfinch heading west, 20+ Meadow Pipit around fence (FJC)
Landfill – Kestrel on wires by Lea Farm buildings, Redwing on Hawthorn hedge, 2 Stonechat briefly (FJC)

October 16th
Lea Farm Lake – Cattle Egret landed on east shore for about 5 minutes then flew towards hide then off south east, 7 Little Egret flying south along the east shore three dropped in and four kept going (FJC); Snipe it appeared to be swimming! (Geof Slocombe)

Lavell’s Lake – 10 Lapwing, 3 Snipe (Brian Crathorne); 7 Linnet heading south, 15 Greenfinch heading south it is uncommon to see passage birds believe it or not, Hobby juvenile late bird hunting local airspace for over an hour (FJC); Hobby over the Car Park field, Little Grebe, 2 Mistle Thrush seen in the Car Park field (Anne Cronin)

October 10th
Lavell’s Lake – 25 Chaffinch in two groups of 3 and 17 heading north west, 8 Mistle Thrush a single bird then a group of seven heading west with other Thrushes, 6 Snipe on Bund, Water Rail heard, Ring Ouzel possible over west, Redwing (FJC)
Landfill – Stonechat close to viewing point from the Car Park field, 60+ Goldfinch around the barns, Brambling heading west with other finches, Blackcap and Chiffchaff in passing Tit flock (FJC)
Black Swan Lake – 14 Redwing north over near the Activity Centre, Rock Pipit flew in around Activity Centre beach twice calling the whole time then nearly landing but crossing the lake lost against trees (FJC)
Sandford Lake – 2 Redwing over heading west (FJC); 4 Pochard two males and two females (Anne Cronin)

October 9th
Lea Farm Lake – 2 Raven, Peregrine both circling at a distance over the far landfill (FJC)
Lavell’s Lake – 8 Buzzard circling overhead, Common Gull over, 11 Snipe at far end of the Bund (FJC)
Landfill – 5 House Martin thru in singles and twos, 15+ Linnet thru in numerous small groups, Siskin group thru all apparently heading south, Stonechat showing well in the reeds on the Balancing Pond near the Green Barn (Paul Mattingly)

Lavell’s Lake – 30 House Martin feeding above Lodge Wood and the Landfill, 5 Swallow through south, 3+ Meadow Pipits, 10+ Goldfinch in hedgerow by old Oak, 4 Jay flew west high over the Landfill and on over the river all in the Car Park field, 4 Linnet just flew south west and away over Lavell’s (Trevor Guyatt); 14 Snipe, 43 Teal, 24 Shoveler, 12 Mallard, 6 Tufted Duck, 3 Wigeon, Cetti’s Warbler, Water Rail (Michael Hubbard)

Lea Farm Lake – Ringed Plover juvenile still present, Stonechat, 35 House Martin groups of 16 and 12 through south and 5 to 7 lingering around Lodge Wood, 2 Snipe in the south west corner (FJC); 3 Stonechat on corner of fence one adult male one first winter male and a juvenile or female, 3 House Martin, 2 Swallow south over landfill (Trevor Guyatt)
Lavell’s Lake – 5 Snipe, Water Rail in the cut reed at back of Tern scrape, 3 Siskin heading south, 80+ Meadow Pipit trickle of passage south south east in groups of 8-15, 9 Song Thrush 6 seen in the car park field with 3 or more on landfill hedgerow, 2 Blackcap, Chiffchaff both in the Car Park field (FJC)
Landfill – 27 House Martin in two groups of 12 and 15, 2 Swallow, 3 Reed Bunting, Kestrel, Skylark, 3 Chaffinch all heading south, 27 Meadow Pipit heading south, 6 Skylark towards the south east (FJC)

October 2nd
Lea Farm Lake – Ringed Plover juvenile still present, Stonechat (FJC); 9 Snipe on the east bank (Paul Bright-Thomas)
Lavell’s Lake – 15 Linnet in 3 groups of 7 6 and 2 over south east, 500+ Swallow 5 groups of 40-120 passing through south east in barely half an hour (FJC); Grey Wagtail juvenile, 3 Snipe on the Bund in the cut reeds (Patrick Crowley)
Black Swan Lake – 30 House Martin feeding over the bank-side trees (Patrick Crowley)
Landfill – 2 Stonechat perched on vent on landfill seen from bottom of car park field for a few minutes, 20+ Meadow Pipit, 20+ Goldfinch on bushes right of old Oak (FJC)

October 1st
Lea Farm Lake – Ringed Plover juvenile, 15+ Meadow Pipit in grass around fence, 2 Mistle Thrush in from east, 2 Shelduck flew in high from the south east and landed in the south west corner (FJC); Green Woodpecker female feeding on grass bank south of the hide, 3 Snipe on south bank of the south west bay, 3 Stonechat together on fence wires in the north east corner adult male with 2 juvenile or females, 2 Chiffchaff calling in trees by Green Bridge one flew across the River Loddon (Trevor Guyatt)
Lavell’s Lake – 10 Snipe at the back of the scrape where reeds have been cut (Mark Lauri)
