Lavell’s Lake – Water Rail flew across lake to main island seen from Teal hide, Wigeon, Little Grebe, Gadwall all seen on the lake, Stonechat male fly-catching over the reed bed, Cetti’s Warbler in front of Bittern hide briefly, 5 Teal, 2 Shoveler on the Scrape, 2 Wigeon, 2 Lapwing (Peter Scudamore)

October 30th
Lea Farm Lake – 40+ Fieldfare east over Lodge Wood and Landfill, 100+ Mallard in the south west corner, 100+ Teal, 50+ Wigeon, 20 Gadwall (FJC)
Lavell’s Lake – Little Egret at Bittern hide just now flown off towards Lea Farm (Pete Stewardson); Mandarin Duck male on the Bittern Scrape (Paul Bright-Thomas)

Lea Farm Lake – 8 Common Gull all on the east shore, Teal in decent quantity in the south west corner (FJC)

Lavell’s Lake – Mandarin Duck male on the Bund (David Hampton)
Black Swan Lake – Water Rail working the reed bed on fishing peg 18 (Simon Bartlam)

October 27th
Lea Farm Lake – 90+ Teal all in the south west corner, Green Sandpiper, a few Shoveler, Wigeon and 40+ Mallard, 150 Black-headed Gull on the east shore, Common Gull, Herring Gull, Lesser Black-backed Gull, Ruddy Shelduck on the east shore just left of old Shingle Island (FJC)

October 26th
Lea Farm Lake – 2 Green Sandpiper, Stonechat, Common Gull (Nick Kightley)

October 25th
Lavell’s Lake – 3+ Teal, 2 Lapwing, 6 Gadwall in three pairs, Cetti’s Warbler heard
in the reed bed on the path to the hide, Bullfinch heard but unfortunately not seen (Andrew Kitchen)
Sandford Lake – 100+ Starling in a small murmuration until a Sparrowhawk ambushed & caught one then most flew off towards Lavell’s (Michael Hubbard)
White Swan Lake – 3 Red-crested Pochard two males and a female seen mid-lake on the eastern side (Andrew Curd)

Lavell’s Lake – 3 Redwing in bushes on the left then flew off north, 11 Shoveler, 7 Teal, 4 Tufted Duck, Kingfisher on furthest post on Bund (Simon Huggins)

October 16th
Lea Farm Lake – 2 Stonechat, Skylark, Meadow Pipit scattered around the Landfill (FJC)
Lavell’s Lake – 9 Skylark heading south, Water Rail at the back of Scrape from Bittern hide (FJC)
Landfill – 20 Redwing heading west in small groups of 2-3 on the move west plus birds in the Car Park field, Chaffinch in ones and twos, 2 Linnet heading south, 25 Skylark light passage heading south in groups of 9+7+4 then 5+ on landfill, 8 Chaffinch heading west (FJC)

October 15th
Lea Farm Lake – 4 Snipe seen from the new Waitrose Screen (Alan Jackman)

Lea Farm Lake – 2 Green Sandpiper very noisy, 3 Snipe in the north west towards the new Waitrose Screen, Water Rail squealing from vegetation in front of Ron’s hide, 400+ Greylag Geese on lake when I arrived (Michael Hubbard)
Mortimer’s Meadow – Siskin over, Redwing over, 2+ Chiffchaff (Dave Rimes)

Lavell’s Lake – 4 Water Rail three heard and one swimming near the edge of the reeds,
Little Grebe further along as well (Michael Hubbard)
Sandford Lake – 50+ Greylag north of islands, 3 Kingfisher two flew together out to the islands whilst a third flew south at the same time, Grey Wagtail over the north west corner, 23 Wigeon, 3 Pochard, 44 Gadwall, 60+ Tufted Duck, 2+ Siskin heard calling from other side of Loddon, Chiffchaff a number here too still singing (Michael Hubbard)

Lea Farm Lake – 10+ Skylark on far Landfill, Meadow Pipit, Swallow through, 2 distant flocks of about 12-14 smaller finches over the landfill heading south (FJC)
Lavell’s Lake – 5+ Chiffchaff around the site (FJC)
Sandford Lake – 4+ Chiffchaff in the Willow along the backwater on the west side, 85+ Tufted Duck, Pochard (FJC); 15 Wigeon, 25 Shoveler, 44 Gadwall, 54 Mallard, 5 Teal, Kingfisher over the lake twice, large roving flock of Tits/Warblers etc along Loddon (Michael Hubbard)
